Some worked as farmers and wine merchants, while others became BBC conductors and broadcasters.\nThe programme features music by Edward Loder, Stanley Bate, Hubert Bath, Kellow Pye, Nigel Brooks, Henry Balfour Gardiner, Raymond Sutton and Reginald Redman. Highlights include Sutton’s suite Wiltshire Downs, which opens with Salisbury (The Deanery), together with music by Hubert Bath, best known for his much-loved Cornish Rhapsody.\nDuncan combines live performance with fascinating musical history. As a result, audiences discover a neglected chapter of British music and hear works that deserve to be better known today.\nA Unique Arundells Concert Experience\nExperience this music in the intimate surroundings of Arundells, performed on Sir Edward Heath’s beloved Steinway piano.\nWith only a small number of seats available, this special recital offers a rare opportunity to enjoy outstanding live music in one of Salisbury’s most historic and atmospheric settings.\nAbout Duncan Honeybourne\nDuncan Honeybourne enjoys an international reputation as a pianist, educator and champion of neglected British music. Critics have praised his “gripping performances” (The Times), “glittering performances” (International Piano), “fine, sensitive playing” (Gramophone) and “great technical facility and unfailing imagination” (Musical Opinion).\nHe performs regularly throughout the UK and Europe, appears frequently on BBC Radio 3 and has released more than 40 recordings. Throughout his career, he has championed forgotten British composers while also premiering over 100 new works written especially for him.\nDuncan teaches at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Academy, the University of Southampton and Sherborne School.
