Visiting us this Summer
Information on our safety measures for visitors and staff
We are so pleased to announce that Arundells will very shortly reopen to visitors.
The health and welfare of our visitors, staff and volunteer stewards remains our primary concern but we are now confident that the house can, with the introduction of some new procedures, open its doors in as safe and Covid-19 secure way as possible.
The house and garden will be open as follows:
Saturday 29th August until Sunday 27th September.
Saturdays, Sundays, and the August Bank Holiday Monday 11 am to 4pm (last admission at 3.30pm)
House and garden £5 (Arts Fund Members £2.50) | Garden only £2.50 | Children aged 12 and under, free of charge
Advance booking is not required
Please note that the Exhibition Room will remain closed and that guided tours will not be available
New procedures have been put in place. These include maintaining social distancing requirements, enhanced cleaning measures, a limitation upon the number of visitors within the house at any time, and a one-way system. You will be required to wear a face covering within the house.
We hope that you will thoroughly enjoy your visit to Arundells, and we look forward to seeing you.
Thank you for your help and support in these difficult times
Prior to visiting
Please do NOT visit Arundells if:
- You are feeling unwell.
- You are experiencing any of the recognised symptoms associated with Coronavirus infection or have experienced any of these symptoms within the last 14 days.
- You have knowingly been in contact with any person who has exhibited any of these symptoms within the last 14 days.
You will enter Arundells through the main gates and not through our normal visitor reception building.
These gates will be kept open, allowing plenty of space for social distancing when both arriving and departing.
Reception and ticket sales
You will then make your way to our ‘Reception Marquee’ which you will see in front of you. This marquee will (as far as weather conditions permit) have open sides to maximise natural ventilation.
You will be asked to wait to be called forward by our reception team. At this time, please cleanse your hands using the sanitiser provided.
Payment must, please, be by card. We will not be accepting cash or cheque payments. Our receptionist will be wearing a face shield and mask. The card payment device, and additional equipment, will be regularly sanitised.
Please provide our receptionist with your name (one person per social group) and a contact telephone number for track and tracing purposes.
Garden only visitors
If you have purchased a ticket for the garden only, please make your way over the lawn to the side of the house and enjoy exploring. Please do bring a picnic if you would like to. We simply ask that you maintain social distancing at all times.
Visiting the House
If you have purchased a ticket to see the house and the garden, please proceed to the table that you will see close to the front door and wait for one of our Stewards to confirm when you will be able to enter the house.
To help protect the health and welfare of our visitors and staff, numbers within the house will be restricted. Some delays may be possible at busy times but you are welcome to visit the house and garden in whichever order suits you.
There will be another hand sanitiser at this location and please note that you must wear a face covering at all times whilst within the house.
Information sheets and one way system
Each individual visitor (or social group) will be given a selection of paper information sheets that will provide a summary of the key items within each of the rooms and help you know what to look out for. These sheets will be arranged on a room by room basis and will follow the one way system.
Please follow the directional arrows of the one way system from room to room. You will find a Steward in each room. Please do ask them for guidance and for further information about the house and collection.
At the end of your visit to the house
Having completed your visit to the house, you will leave by the front door. A Steward will assist.
When outside, please put your information sheets into the box provided for recycling or you are very welcome to take them home with you if you would like to.
Finally, please again sanitise your hands before exploring the garden or leaving the property.
We hope that you thoroughly enjoy your visit to Arundells and thank you for your help and support.
