The Greenwood Bough: Tree Folk Tales from Britain and Ireland

Ever since the last ice melted, trees have been our constant companions. Trees have transformed us, protected us, inspired us and created bridges for us. They will continue to shape our lives as we walk into an uncertain future.

Join storyteller Lisa Schneidau for an evening of dark tales of oak and yew, rowan and blackthorn, as we wander through the greenwood in our imaginations. After all what is a folk tale, but a tangled woodland of words, where anything could happen?

Surrounded by the charcoal drawings, paintings and prints of Tansy Lee Moir’s Seen in the Trees exhibition, audiences will experience these tree-centred folk tales in a uniquely atmospheric setting.

Lisa Schneidau is a storyteller and ecologist based in Devon. She has written five books of folk tales, the most recent of which, Tree Folk, is published on November 5th. www.lisaschneidau.co.uk
