On Friday 24th October, we were delighted to welcome Gyles Brandreth back to Salisbury, this time joined on stage by Sir Nicholas Soames, for an evening of laughter, insight and wonderfully candid conversation.
Held in the Performing Arts Centre at Godolphin School, the event brought together two towering figures from British public life. Gyles, ever the consummate storyteller, guided the discussion with his trademark wit and warmth, while Nicholas shared personal reflections on his long career in politics, his time at the heart of Westminster, and his remarkable family connection to Sir Winston Churchill.
The audience enjoyed an engaging and good-humoured exchange, full of anecdotes, political insight and moments of reflection, all delivered with the charm and energy both men are known for.
Our thanks go to Gyles and Nicholas for a truly memorable evening, and to John Rose for capturing these fantastic photographs from the night.
🎧 Keep an eye out for the full conversation, which will feature in a forthcoming episode of Gyles Brandreth’s Rosebud podcast.
