Arundells Recognised by VisitEngland as a Quality Assured Visitor Attraction

We’re delighted to share some exciting news: Arundells has officially been awarded the status of a VisitEngland Quality Assured Visitor Attraction!

Following our first assessment by VisitEngland earlier this month, we received a fantastic overall score of 86%, with particular praise for the warm welcome provided by our volunteers, the beautifully preserved interiors, and the immersive, personal nature of the experience we offer here at Arundells.

The assessor described the house as “unexpectedly captivating” and highlighted the “refreshingly personal and authentic” feel of the visit — as though Sir Edward Heath has just stepped out for a moment. Our gardens, with their peaceful charm and view of Salisbury Cathedral, were also singled out as a highlight. As a result, Arundells has now been nominated for VisitEngland’s Hidden Gem award — we’ll keep you posted when the winners are announced later this year!

This recognition comes during a landmark year for Arundells. In early 2025, we became an Arts Council England Accredited Museum, demonstrating our commitment to high standards in collections care and visitor engagement. And, just a few weeks ago, we were honoured to be named Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Salisbury Business Excellence Awards.

All of this wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our trustees, staff, volunteers, and of course, our visitors. Whether you’re coming to explore our fascinating collections, wander through our peaceful gardens, or learn more about the life of Sir Edward Heath, we’re proud to provide an experience that’s both engaging and memorable.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
