Art Talk: Ceramic Collections in The Close

Ceramic Collections in Salisbury’s Cathedral Close: Arundells, Mompesson and Nightingale’s

A hidden gem of Salisbury’s Cathedral Close are the three ceramic collections at Arundells, Mompesson and The King’s House, now The Salisbury Museum. Each tells a distinct story about the history of collecting throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Focusing on these collections allows us to survey ceramics from Europe and Asia, made or imported into Britain over 400 years.
